Life is not a goal to be achieved.
It is a gift to be received.
~ Henri Nouwen
Life is a journey with
bends and turns;
full of beauty, grandeur,
power, inspiration, and
possibilities for love.
It is up to each of us to create a life
of joy, vitality, and purpose.

A Little About Rev. Robin Renteria
Rev. Robin Renteria's Philosophy
Her years working as a hospital chaplain and Unitarian Universalist minister for people of all faiths, cultures and life styles has taught her that the only moment we have in which to live our love is now. It is now that we can savor our joys, heal our wounds, engage in meaningful work, face our fears - and celebrate our miraculous gifts of life and love. Her delight is celebrating this with you.
Reverend Robin Renteria is booking ceremonies from now through 2012.
She'll reply within 24 hours of receiving it.
As a non-denominational wedding minister, wedding officiant, or wedding celebrant, she primarily serves Orange, Durham, Wake, Chatham, and Alamance counties and the towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, Raleigh, Hillsborough, Cary, Mebane, Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina, Apex, Bahama, Burlington, and Efland.
Rev. Robin Renteria's Journey to Becoming a Wedding Minister
Reverend Robin Renteria always loves what she learns when she allows life's surprising twists and turns. It's not always easy, but she's getting better at it. She was a foreign exchange student in South Africa in high school, got a Math degree in 1972 from UT-Austin. She married in 1974, and soon after, adopted her daughter, Renee.
In 1990 she left her career in project management for oil companies to backpack through Asia and the Middle East. The prior years she'd had serious illness, a bad car wreck, and a difficult divorce. It was during this trip, in a small villiage in the hills of Nepal, grateful to be surrounded by such beauty and generosity, that she decided to dedicate her life to celebrating the amazing miracles of life and love.
In 1994, she earned an M.Div., completed an internship and was ordained a Unitarian Universalist minister (uua.org). She served hospitals and congregations for the next 14 years, and earned a Ph.D. at UNCG in 2001 exploring how we learn and grow. Her Sweetheart of twelve years (that's him below) is named Ruben. The similarity in their names is proof to them that the Universe has a sense of humor.
Since 2008 she's focused full time on celebrating the rituals of our lives with the joy and love they deserve. She serves primarily as a wedding minister or wedding officiant . This brings wonderful people into her life who never cease to delight and inspire her.

Rev. Robin Renteria's Commitment to You
Even after marrying just about 1,000 couples in the NC Triangle and Triad, Rev. Robin Renteria still loves her work as a wedding minister and officiant; the work of helping you celebrate your love.
In whatever capacity you work with her, you can trust that she will honor your unique desires, concerns, beliefs, and traditions. Your ceremony is about you, not about her.
As your wedding officiant, she interviews you to learn how you met, what you love about each other, milestones you've shared, and what you want to express to each other and to your family and friends in your ceremony. This helps her make your ceremony personal, relevant, and true for you, as well as meaningful and fun.
Rev. Renteria's experience, flexibility, and calm presence help you relax and enjoy your wedding, and ensure she can handle anything that arsises easily and with grace. She truly enjoys working with you!
She also pays attention to details: She has a sound system so your wedding ceremony will be heard by all your guests, she brings copies of everyone's readings, she cues musicians, carries matches (so candles can always be lit), has a sewing kit, throat lozanges, kleenex, and a handkerchief that can be discreetly offered.
She helps where needed and has often pinned on boutonnnieres, rearranged chairs in the rain, practiced so that she could speak vows in French and blessings of the wine in Hebrew. She is committed 100% to making your wedding ceremony just what you want it to be - a celebration of your love your way!
To this end, this year she has self-published her compendium of rich wedding ceremony resources that she's developed with couples, and gathered over the last almost seventeen years. It includes all the wise tips she has learned and, since it's an e-book, she's still adding more! You can learn more about it and purchase it at www.UltimateWeddingCeremonyWorkbook.com.
